Program Overview (2015 edition)
I. Objectives
This program aims at cultivating high-quality talents who are developed morally, intellectually and physically, and are well-equipped with basic knowledge and skills of international trade and finance. Students are required to be familiar with the rules prevailing in international trade and finance, policies and regulations of China's foreign trade and foreign exchange, current status of international economic and trade development, as well as the social and economic situations of major countries. Graduates of this program can competent for works, like international trade business, finance and foreign exchange, independently.
II. Characteristics and Requirements
According to students' personality, temperament, interests and career orientation, this program provides different cultivation. On the basis of learning basic courses and core courses, students can choose extended courses with the guidance of their tutors. Extended courses are mainly divided into three categories. One is courses on international trade practice, which cultivate students' ability of international trade operation; one is courses on administrative assistants in foreign trade companies, which develop students' skills of managing international trade in foreign trade companies; another one is courses on theories of international economy and trade , which expand students' knowledge on international economics.
III. Educational System and Degree Granting
The basic length of this program is 4 years, with flexible options from 3 years to 6 years.
Those who have completed all courses in advance according to the training plan, obtained corresponding credits and met the requirements for graduation are allowed to graduate in advance (the length of schooling shall not be less than 3 years). Also, students can extend their study periods in school if they meet relevant regulations, but the periods shall not exceed two years of extension.
Students who have completed credits acquired within the prescribed educational period and passed examinations can receive the undergraduate diploma. Those who meet the requirements of Measures for Awarding Bachelor’s Degree to Undergraduates of Anhui University of Finance and Economics will be awarded the bachelor’s degree in economics. Students who fail to pass examinations will be punished according to relevant provisions of school roll management.
Students can choose to study on double majors and double degrees in the flexible educational system.

VI. Suggestions on Double Majors and Double Degrees
To facilitate the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents, students with spare capacity are encouraged to apply for the study of a second degree (or minor major).
We will create more favorable study conditions for the second degree, and specific measures will be implemented in the approval of applications.
Students majoring in international economics and trade are recommended to pursue a bachelor's degree in management or law as the second degree.
VII. Suggestions on Qualifications
Qualifications recommended to obtain during the schooling period includes Customs Broker Certificate, Inspector Certificate, International Business Manager Certificate, Shanghai Interpretation Certificate and etc.
